A Guide to Planning a DIY Wedding

So it finally happened! After over 10 years together I’m engaged!

I’ve known couples who immediately throw themselves into wedding planning and have a venue picked out within weeks. However, I have a few things to consider:

  1. I’m currently sitting at home, on furlough, in the middle of the 2020 pandemic
  2. We want to do it on a reasonable budget

So what does that mean for wedding planning. Well first off, I can’t go an see any venues and thousands of weddings across the UK have been cancelled and postponed until next year so it is unlikely I will get my ideal “whilst I’m still 30” date.

Secondly, I have a lot of time on my hands to have a go at a few crafty projects that will hopefully mean I can save a bit of money!

So we’ve given ourselves a budget and I plan to squeeze everything I can out of that budget. Don’t get me wrong it isn’t a tiny budget, but I’m hoping, with a bit of DIY, to get the best dam bang for my buck!

Table Decoration

Table centres can be incredibly expensive, and let’s not forget people love to buy unique name cards for each guest whilst also sticking to a beautifully elaborate “theme”.
Here are a few DIY table centres to give your wedding a great look without breaking the bank!

Wedding Favours

Personalised wedding favours are all the rage, ranging from 50p for a small wooden name holder (what are they going to do with that afterwards?) or an eco-seed packet to personalised bottled of champagne and full on goodie bags for each guest

Finding a balance between something they will actually want to keep or use is tricky, something for everyone or something that isn’t wasted if they don’t all take it!

Let’s Create something beautiful.
